Digital Case Manager for Concussion Recovery

You deserve recovery from your concussion.
We'll show you exactly how.

It feels like you're stuck. Like nobody sees your whole story. Headaches, brain fog, dizziness, and building back up that just won't stick. That stops here. A team of specialist therapists helps you map the 10 recovery aspects so you know what to tackle first. And you finally start moving forward.

We hear you

Does this sound familiar?

You've been told to rest. You're wondering if you'll ever recover. And you're missing someone who has the overview of your recovery. Living with a concussion that won't heal is exhausting, invisible and deeply frustrating. Around 30,000 people in the Netherlands get needlessly stuck in their recovery every year.

  • "Every doctor refers me somewhere else. Nobody has the overview of my recovery."
  • "They tell me to rest, but I wonder if I'll ever actually recover."
  • "I look fine on the outside, but the moment I get home I completely fall apart."
  • "I've tried so much. Nothing works, because nobody knows where to start."
  • "I just want my life back — my work, my sport, my time with family."
  • "The waitlists are months long, and expensive. I don't know what the right move is."
  • "I heard about cognitive training protocols and interval training. Does that work for me too, and how do you do it?"

"For a year and a half I kept hearing that treatments weren't working. Nobody connected the dots. When I finally understood which aspect to tackle first, everything changed. Less than two years later I swam the English Channel."

The science behind it

Concussion recovery has 10 aspects.
Most people only address one or two.

Knowing which aspect needs attention first without losing sight of the rest is an art. That's how you get the most recovery impact and avoid wasting energy and money on the wrong things.

Real recovery stories

What our patients say

People who were stuck for months, sometimes years, and finally found their way forward.

"After being passed around for 14 months, this was the first time anyone mapped my whole situation. Within a week I had a plan that made sense. I cried reading the report."

Lisa M., 34
Recovered after 18 months

"They kept telling me to rest more. But rest wasn't my problem at all — it was my vestibular system. Nobody had ever tested that. The case manager found it right away."

Marieke V., 28
Back to work full-time

"The hardest part was that nobody believed how much I was suffering. The report felt like recognition first. Someone finally understood. The recovery plan was a bonus."

Our mission & vision

What we stand for

Our mission is to help 300 people recover at least three months faster in 2026 than they would on their own. Nobody should stay stuck for longer than needed, simply because the right information didn't reach them in time.

That's why we work on research, on lobbying, and on awareness. Our goal: by 2030 this knowledge belongs in primary care, and reimbursed, without you having to buy it from us first. We see the pain up close, and we know from experience that much of it can be prevented.

Lived-experience expert & Co-founder

After two concussions in 2021, one from a fall on the ice, one from a cycling accident, Winnifred was told to mostly rest. It only made her sicker: constant headaches, sensitivity to light and screens, memory problems, and an intense fear of setbacks that shrank her life down to her living room. Drawing on her scientific background, she dove into the medical literature herself, discovered the American approach of cognitive training and movement, and rebuilt her own recovery step by step. She's now 98% recovered. In 2025 she swam the English Channel in just over 17 hours, through cold water and jellyfish, raising more than €55,000 for research at the Dutch Brain Foundation. Her story has appeared in De Telegraaf, Flair and Libelle, among others, and she wrote the book "Hoofd boven water" about it. Her mission is to make sure nobody with a concussion spends as long stuck on the couch as she did.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Absolutely. Many of our users have been dealing with symptoms for one, two, or even five years or longer. Persistent symptoms after a concussion, previously called post-concussion syndrome, have no expiry date, and neither does recovery. Our protocol makes an impact no matter how long ago the injury happened. If we don't think we can help you, we'll tell you that too.
We recommend booking a call if you still have persistent symptoms 6 weeks after your concussion or whiplash. While you can still make progress years later, starting early often prevents things from getting worse.
Most people recover within a few weeks. For some, symptoms last longer than 6 weeks to several months. This is called persistent symptoms after a concussion; the older term is post-concussion syndrome. It doesn't mean nothing can be done. With the right approach, only a small share of people end up with long-term symptoms.
In the first few days, rest helps. But prolonged, complete rest often slows recovery down. After the first phase, it's important to gradually build back up with guidance. Which build-up suits you depends on which of the 10 recovery aspects are involved.
In some cases, not entirely. MyConcussionCoach is a decision-support and training tool. The digital case manager and community help you, and where needed your care team, understand your situation better. You can then train many aspects yourself in our community. In some cases you'll still need help from specialist providers. We help you find the right specialist and give you confidence that it's the right choice. If we don't think the community and roadmap can help you, you get your money back.
The digital case manager itself is not currently reimbursed by health insurers, since it's a new category of digital care. We're actively working on reimbursement pathways. Care you receive from certified providers in our network may be covered, depending on your insurer and policy.

We're happy to help you free up funding through your employer, an insurance claim, or a disability fund. Download free information here or ask for help convincing your stakeholders.
The intake takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes. You can save your progress and continue later, you don't need to finish it in one sitting. We know cognitive fatigue is real, and we've built the questionnaire around it: short sections, clear questions, no time pressure.
