Back to work, without a setback
Starting again too soon often leads to a relapse. Waiting too long does too. In this introduction we explain how to build up your work calmly, what you can arrange with your employer and occupational physician, and how to avoid being overloaded.
How does cognitive training work, and is it right for me?
Brain fog, overstimulation and a lack of concentration can, in many cases, be trained away. Building on Cognitive FX in the United States and more than 20 other sources, plus input from specialised physiotherapists, Winnifred recreated the programme in her living room. After 3 days she had no headache for the first time in a year and a half. After 5 days she could follow conversations effortlessly again. But she also experienced that cognitive training isn't the only part of recovery, and that there are many different ways to get started. Watch the webinar to hear her story and discover what fits you.
Want to know exactly where your recovery is stuck?
Concussion recovery consists of no fewer than 11 components. Which factors are holding back your recovery is always personal, and often no one in healthcare has the overview. MyConcussionCoach does. In one portal, specialists assess which components need first aid most urgently, which exercises fit these topics, and where, if needed, you can find the right healthcare professionals in the Netherlands when training in our guided community isn't enough.
The webinars and downloads give you knowledge. The Case Manager gives you a plan that fits your situation.
The Case Manager maps all 11 components of your situation and shows you what to prioritise.
Your report shows which steps to start with. No guessing, no overwhelm.
Join the community where you work on your recovery. Every week you can choose from group coaching calls with different specialists, plus an accountability call to check in on where you're stuck. Send your questions in advance and get the attention you deserve.
People who were stuck, and moved forward again
"They told me to rest more. But rest wasn't my problem at all, it was my vestibular system. No one had ever tested it. The case manager found it right away."
"The hardest part was that no one believed how much I was suffering. The report first felt like recognition. Someone finally understood. The recovery plan was a bonus."

Download for freeQuestions many people with a concussion lasting longer than 6 weeks ask
Can a concussion last for years?
Yes. 70-90% of people recover within a few weeks, but for some, symptoms persist for longer than 6 months. This is called persistent symptoms after a concussion; the older term for it is post-concussion syndrome. Persistent symptoms don't mean nothing can be done. We know that only 5-6% of people keep long-term symptoms when they receive the right information. They usually point to an underlying factor, such as the neck, the balance system or cognitive load, that still needs targeted attention.
Does your brain ever fully recover?
For many people, yes, even when a doctor earlier said further recovery was no longer possible. The brain is trainable thanks to neuroplasticity: with the right, dosed training and by learning new patterns, your brain rebuilds many functions. How fully and how quickly you recover depends on which factors are involved and whether they are addressed specifically. The Digital Case Manager always indicates whether there are factors holding back your recovery.
Winnifred is 99% recovered after 3 years, and Cornel, Lukas & Melvin also see most of the patients under their guidance recover over time.
Is it normal to still have symptoms after 3 months?
Yes, this is more common than people think, and it doesn't mean it's all in your head. Persistent brain fog, fatigue or concentration problems after three months are a signal that a specific part of your recovery still needs attention. It's the moment to map out exactly what is keeping the symptoms going, instead of waiting.
Which exercise helps against brain fog?
The most important exercise is dosed cognitive loading combined with movement and learning to regulate your nervous system. In our webinar on cognitive training we show you step by step how to build this up.
